MRF TOURS
We offer tours of our Material Recovery Facility to any interested school or civic group. There is no cost for the tour, we simply ask that you call 309-932-2936 or e-mail Jacque to schedule. We can accommodate groups of between 50 and 60. If you have a larger group please contact us, as we have accommodated larger groups.
The tour consists of two parts. Part 1 is a presentation of all the different materials we accept in our programs, and into what they can made. Part 2 is the actual tour of the MRF. For larger groups (more than 20) we will usually split the group into 2 sections, and while one section is seeing the presentation, the other is touring the MRF, and then switch. The whole tour can last anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on your group's schedule.
Absolutely NO open toe shoes or sandals are to be worn during the tour. This is a safety issue. Any student wearing open-toed shoes or sandals will not be able to actually go into the MRF.
